Lake View Cemetery, established in 1872, is situated on 40 acres on the historic Capitol Hill neighborhood just north of Volunteer Park.
Nestled in the Capitol Hill neighborhood, Lake View Cemetery is not too far from the Volunteer Park area. It’s a place rich with history and offers a peaceful atmosphere amidst the bustling city life.
With stunning views to the west over downtown Seattle and views to the east to the Cascade Mountains and Lake Washington, it is known as “Seattle’s Pioneer Cemetery”, and is a destination for fans of Bruce and Brandon Lee along with the founding families of Seattle including Chief Sealth’s daughter, Princess Angeline. Lake View Cemetery is a non-profit association.
A drive or walk through the cemetery, you will see a stunning landscape of over 40 varieties of trees and shrubs, along with the views to the west and east. The property is maintained by a dedicated staff and the result is appreciated by visitors worldwide.
